About Karen

Karen Chellew is the Co-Founder and Legal Liaison of My Divorce Solution, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the legal industry. She spent her career as a paralegal and firm administrator at Weber, Kracht & Chellew, working directly alongside family law attorneys and gaining firsthand insight into the financial complexity, document challenges, and costly discovery disputes common in divorce. That experience gave her a rare perspective. She understands how legal teams operate, what slows cases down, and where financial disorganization creates the biggest problems.

Karen plays a critical role in bridging the legal and financial sides of the divorce process. As a Certified QDRO Administrator, she helps ensure retirement assets and financial documentation are properly identified, organized, and coordinated with attorneys, mediators, and other professionals involved in the case. Her background in HR certification and firm administration allows her to bring operational precision to every client file, helping clients and professionals move through the financial aspects of divorce with greater efficiency and clarity.

Karen co-founded My Divorce Solution alongside Catherine Shanahan after both experienced the personal and professional realities of divorce. Together they developed the MDS Financial Portrait™, a structured financial framework that organizes marital financial data, key documents, and financial analysis into a comprehensive, attorney-ready report. This process allows individuals to understand their financial position and evaluate potential outcomes before making life-altering decisions in the divorce process.

Karen is also co-host of WeChat Divorce, the #1 podcast for financial divorce preparation, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and all major platforms. She is the founder of the Sisters U Foundation; an organization focused on empowering women through education and community support during major life transitions. In addition to her professional work, Karen serves as an Auditor for East Rockhill Township and remains passionate about helping women and families navigate difficult life transitions with knowledge, organization, and financial awareness.
